1.2. Within the meaning of this Regulation, the Performer is a citizen of Latvia at least 16 years old or a non-citizen of Latvia (with the status of a non-citizen) whose permanent place of residence is the Republic of Latvia - a soloist, a duet of such persons, or an association (group) of several persons (group) up to 6
persons. In order to participate in the Competition, the Contractor must have reached the age of 16 by 1 December 2021.

1.3. Citizens of Latvia and non-citizens of Latvia who are permanently residing outside the borders of the Republic of Latvia may participate in the Competition as Performers.

5.1. The participant who wins the Competition wins the opportunity to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, for which the Participant and LTV enter into a separate contract;
5.2. If the Participant does not sign the cooperation agreement for participation in the international competition within two working days after the final of "Supernova 2022", LTV has the right to enter into a contract with the next place winners at the discretion of the Organisers of the
Competition.

2. Evaluation criteria for the songs and participants of the competition

2.1. The songs and the entry of participants into the live broadcast of the Competition shall be determined by a jury selected by Latvian Television. Latvian Television selects the jury on the basis of their experience and achievements in the industry. 2.2. The Jury evaluates the Songs and Participants' applications

at its own professional discretion, taking into account the following criteria: 2.1.1.

The structure of the song – originality, arrangement, message, compliance with modern market trends;
2.1.2. Opportunities and potential of the Song and Participant to compete in the international pop market;
2.1.3. The performer's vocal abilities and personality;
2.1.4. Past achievements in the sector or potential for future achievements and real market existence.

2.3. The titles of the entries selected by the jury and entered in the next round, including the SongWriters, will be published by LTV in December 2021.
