However, you may not remember this, and as another poster brought this up, it seems fair game, but during the poisoning scandal, NATO called an emergency summit to tackle Russia. Boris Johnson - who was home sec at the time, walked out of the conference, ditched his handlers, went to a Berlusconi partiy, where he hosted Russian oligarchs. The son of one of the attendees at that party was recently given a lifetime in the house of lords and collects his money from them to this day. So pray tell, who's the Russian sympathiser?

Here's the thing, diplomacy is essential part of being a country, so I don't see the big deal with talking to adversaries and people you disagree with, but unfortunately we're not playing by the same rules.
