Yea I agree with that too, I suppose I’d argue that there’s an element of both. The initial surge to the top is likely the most exciting part and then the “returns” in terms of that adrenaline and validation start to decline, as (just like any lifestyle) it just starts to become normality. And then as you say I’ve seen many describe being left with that “hollow” feeling when the day to day reality isn’t what was imagined.

Some sort of seem to come much more back down to earth - but again it seems to be the ones who found fame older? I suppose, because they once lived a more normal life, so that can more easily go back to living that sort of life. It’s the ones who NEVER lived a “normal” adult life who seem worst affected… Michael Jackson, Macaulay Culkin, many of the young 80’s stars, and really a huge number of the young Disney stars (Olsen twins, Demi Lovato, Shia Lebeouf, Lindsay Lohan etc to name a few off the top of my head).

Bieber was taken under the wings of big-name stars when he wasn’t even old enough to shave, I don’t think he stood a chance. He hasn’t looked “well” for a number of years.
