We cannot legally refuse refugees from entering the country by international law. We cannot forcefully stop boats arriving. We legally have to provide subsistance for them while they are being processed. We cannot avoid any of that

What we can do is process them quicker so that the illegal immigrants are removed from the country as quickly as possible, but that is all we can reasonably do
