- He's grown into a caring man : The sequel is about the now adult son of Jack Torrence Dan, he uses his shining powers to help dying people go peacefully into death at a hospice he works at
- This group want to dull things : A group of "psychic vampires" track and murder people like Dan so they can steal and feed off their "shine"
- The end brings him back to the beginning to save her : In order to save a powerful young girl with the shine he needs to lure the leader of the baddie group back to the Overlook Hotel to trap her
