That's because most people that complain are hypocrites. They'll complain about Ross swearing or making crude remarks but it mainly stems from the fact that Ross is paid so much and is a fairly liberal chap.

Same with Brand, he is very liberal so is attacked by papers such as The Daily Mail.

But if someone makes a racist remark and is fired or suspended, then the Daily Mail gets all up in arms and takes a "You can't say anything these days!" type of attitude, not realising their own hypocrisy.
they realise it... it's their readers that don't. The writers and editors know what sells papers...ie pandering to it's reader's fantasies . Readers don't want to be told they're bigoted... they want their retarded ideas reinforced... and are happy to pay the price of a "newspaper" for it. So in that respect these writes and editors have more things in common with sex workers than with journalist...both take money to gratify a base need.
