I think there is merit in bothsides of the arguement on here and also wrongdoing on the part of both Marcus and David.
It should have been a group decision in this case. Sometimes the house is asked "Will one housemate come to the diary room?" No issue there, David or anyone could have gone in without consultation. But this time they were asked for who they considered to be the most judgemental. David was wrong to just go in himself. It should have been a group decision.
Marcus, however was wrong in his selfish view however. As he considers himself the best at every possible thing - stuff that doesn't even exist yet - he will always expect to be the one to go to the diary room and he can't conceive of anyone else going. Additionally, Hira, Sophie or Charlie will never speak up even if they think someone else is a better option. So with Freddie & Siavash likely to suggest Marcus, it will appear as a house decision, when an actual headcount is not taken. That's why he is so confident (while selfish) in wanting a house decision.
By the way, I like Marcus & think he is probably the best option, or one of maybe 1 or 2, in most cases. Remember what happened when Hira had her task for example.
