), because of the way things can be misconstrued over the Internet, swearing magnifies that. If you said something like "I effing hate you" in a joking way in real life; people would pick up on that through your body language, but you don't have that on the Internet. We'd have far more arguments (or at least, the scope for far more arguments) if there were no swear filter in place. Trying to go around it is, in my opinion, sad; there's always another way to express yourself without swearing on the forum.
