Make the Premier League 16 teams, so they play total of 30 games.
Season runs from late August to mid December. Christmas Break. Continues mid January to early May. At the end of season we have either World Cup or European Championships. Qualification takes place for each tournament during the season. Advantages would be fresher players due to less overall fixtures and every summer is a summer of football  Both would improve chances of England actually winning it |
