Back in April, ChristopherCouture.co.uk exclusively revealed that Kate Thornton was in the running to become the new host of Big Brother.

Well now our source has exclusively told us that she is now the favourite to take over from Davina McCall as 'Big Mother'.

Our source said:

"There have been quite a few presenters, both recognised and relatively unknown, that have been considered for the job as the new Big Brother host.
Emma Willis appeared to have got the job as she was the most experienced with presenting for Big Brother, but Kate Thornton was always right behind her. As Emma is now pregnant, bosses are wondering if the job is right for her. Many fans will remember that Davina hosted Big Brother twice while pregnant, but the situation was totally different - she already had the job and was already under a signed contract.
Kate had instant appeal, with being the former host of The X Factor and now a former anchor on Loose Women.
It hit the headlines recently that Kate had been "axed" as a Loose Women anchor, but they left by mutual decision. Kate loved working on Loose Women, but she knew that being the host of the new Big Brother was an opportunity she couldn't miss.
I think it's safe to say Kate is now firmly the favourite and at the top of the list."
