LEWIS HAMILTON'S F1 rivals want a special meeting in Japan this weekend to discuss his gung-ho style of racing.
Brit Hamilton's thrilling but aggressive approach has seen him hit with a clutch of penalties.
Now his fellow racers want talks with the FIA's Race Director Charlie Whiting before Sunday's Grand Prix at Suzuka.
The meeting is due to discuss Hamilton's tactics this season. But he won immediate backing from former McLaren partner Heikki Kovalainen.
The Finn, now at Lotus, has tweeted: "Are all drivers attending a 'special meeting' in Japan about Hamilton's driving? I'm not, I have no problem."
McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh said: "Brave drivers get under the skin of other drivers. Lewis is not here to make friends with them. He is here to win races."
