I think it's more to do with the manner in which it was killed, it was done for entertainment, not for food or because it "the most humane way" of doing things

Although I do find it quite hard to get really worked up about this, there are far worse things happening in Afghanistan after all, and I do eat sheep all the time and I'm sure the way it is often killed in an abattoir isn't always so humane either
