Geordie Shore star Rebecca Walker has confirmed she will be leaving the hit MTV show after the current series.

Following Jay Gardner's shock announcement that he will not be returning, Rebecca has also revealed: "After a whirlwind year I would like to announce my departure from Geordie Shore.

"I have had a fantastic time, Cancun was crazy and I’ve made some friends for life. I’m leaving the show as the same girl I went in as and have no regrets."

She continued: "The madness isn’t over yet and you can continue to watch what I got up to in Cancun over the next few weeks on Geordie Shore. I am glad to be going out on a high, and excited about future projects."

Walker added: "Huge thanks to all my fans for their support and big love to my Geordie Shore family."

Rebecca has since tweeted: "You haven’t seen the last of me, looking forward to future projects. Watch #Geordieshore on Tuesdays @10 to see what I get up to in Cancun."

MTV said of her exit: "Rebecca has been a great addition to the Geordie Shore house, feisty and with great banter, she will be missed.

"We wish her all the best in her future projects and look forward to seeing what she does next."
