Yeah, I agree the father should shoulder the blame also...but is abandonment as bad as murder of children? Not in my book. He will have to live with his guilt (rightly so) for the rest of his life. I wonder if it will come out that she threatened to do this if he didn't return? In that case he could have prevented it and asked authorities to intervene if nothing else.
