
God I love her, she's just ruthless.
As always, I think in among all the crap she's spouting there is some grain of truth in there, she just has a (purposely?) terrible way of explaining herself. You don't have to celebrate your birthday on your actual birthday. When you get older, it becomes normal to celebrate your birthday at the weekend if your birthday is during the week - because the week is for working and if you want to have a celebration, you want to be able to do it on a day that suits you and your friends and family. Her approach will undoubtedly teach her children the value of money and the value of free time versus work, I think it's a good attitude to instill in your children.
