I have a hereditary issue with my joints that mean almost all of them (ankles, knees, shoulders, wrists etc.) Click and crack quite often. Both of my shoulders dislocate very easily if I'm not "prepared" for force on them - basically it's not an issue with lifting / using my arm strength at all so long as my shoulder muscles are tensed, but any "surprise" push or pull on my arms will make them pop.
I get semi-regular aches in both shoulders, that I would describe as similar to having a pulled muscle and putting pressure on it (e.g. trying to walk on a pulled hamstring, but constant). My right knee is also pretty well wrecked - it only occasionally hurts but it clicks and makes a "crunch" sound constantly, I suspect there's very little cartilage and it might well become a problem later in life (i.e. need replaced).
Part of the same issue, I also occasionally have my lower back go out completely, when it goes it's hard to walk / move and I think twice has literally floored me (with all my strength I couldn't push off the floor, let alone walk). The most this is ever happened is twice in the space of a year and an "attack" lasts at most two days, with another two days of very stiff muscles. So its not really something I have to live with day to day... Just something that crops up occasionally. The pain is indescribable, though.
Both issues (general joint pains, shoulders, knee AND the back issue) are all alleviated quite significantly if I cut out inflamatory foods (gluten) and my shoulders and back are significantly better if I keep the shoulder, arm and lower back muscles strong with weights. However... Unfortunately... I'm quite lazy and never keep it up, and I also have a terrible weakness for everything wheat related! Pizza, pasta, bread, donuts.... Hahaha... Mmmm. I should really go totally gluten free as Ive never felt better than the one time I managed it for 2 months (no shoulder pain at all, which is otherwise a daily thing for me) but it's just impossible. The stuff is in every delicious food ever
