Was Grand Theft Auto V a let down?
In the past, whenever I got a GTA game, I'd play it for weeks on end, months even, even GTA IV and all it's DLC. But GTA V... I only ever played it for two or three weeks, and I've not even felt like going back to it. The story in GTA V was a bit of a let down too, in the past we always got decent stories about criminals making their way through a murky underworld, in GTA V we got a bunch of guys doing heists. It's hilarious how quickly Franklin's story is swept under the rug, one minute he's living in the hood in his aunt's house, next he's in the Vinewood hills. The whole game feels kind of empty, we have such an engaging selection of minigames.
Yoga? What the ****, this is GTA. Tennis, fun, but ultimately boring. Golf? Yawn. The physics of the whole game felt like a less fun version of GTA IV, remember in GTA IV, when you could injure specific parts of enemies/civilians? Try that in GTA V. The helicopter controls were ****ed up for no apparent reason. Least of all GTA ****ing Online, remember having fun blowing people up at the airport in GTA IV? Remember being able to go on rampages with helicopters and not having to worry about being a "Bad Sport"?
GTA Online took everything that was fun from GTA IV's multiplayer, and threw it away.
Perhaps the thing that most disappointed me is, the stuff that was added in IV's dlcs wasnt carried over, you couldnt go to bars to get drunk or dance (mostly because the game lacks interiors). GTA V felt like a huge letdown to me, I hope for the next one they don't focus so much on Online and heists.
