They definitely read Digital Spy. Iain Lee posts on it occassionally. During Big Brother 11 (the last one on Channel 4) the executive producer Phil Edgar-Jones was posting on there.
I imagine they look at these sites and the polls to get some idea of what is going on with the audience and how things will work out if they do this or that.
I sometimes wonder if a lot of what they decide to do is based on peeing the fanatics off.
