Daran Little, a gay former writer for Coronation Street, rejected the suggestion that Ken is homophobic.
He probably made another dodgy comment (similar to his "negro" comment to Alexander) not necessarily meant as an insult. Regardless, the way Perez just brought it up in the middle of an argument doesn't sit right with me.

In regards to the negro comment, it wasn't even just his use of the word that made it so bad but the context he used it in was awful as well. He said fat negro and he was speaking as if he was in the deep south talking to one of the "help" it was completely insulting even if you forgave the use of the word negro on it's own
