I have just discovered that a friend of ours was killed in an avalanche in the Queyras mountain range of France. Carol, who has battled cancer, was a fantastic skier and a gutsy and intrepid big wall climber.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...alps-avalanche Carol lived in France but the Queyras is very popular amongst British tourists. I would recommend to any of you who are going over that way in the next few weeks not to go off piste.
