The voice of reason
|
So when my old man died I wanted to keep his wedding ring. As a kid when I held his hand I used to always try and pull it off and spin it around (it had his initials on one side and a masonic emblem on the reverse and it could be spun around. )
So i got it last month and wore it on my right hand, it means a lot to me as he wore it all his married life. My dad was a big tall chap and the ring was a little big but I hate tight things so I never thought much about it. Yesterday as I was working I noticed it was gone! and I could not recall when the last time I saw it I was gutted and ransacked the house but I feared i knew where it was. On saturday me and smallest boy LT went a dog walk and we threw tons of sticks for the dog in this woodland walk so it could have come off there and then on sunday at my mums we went to a park to play football and as me and the wee fella were playing I was also throwing tons of tennis balls for the dog and as it was cold I was pretty sure I threw it off there. The park is muddy. Anyway I told my Mum yesterday and middle sized girl LT was very upset but she did recall me wearing it at that neighbours drinks party on sat so after she told me that I was convinced it was in the park. So we decided to look for it at the weekend and contact the police in case it had been handed in but all it would need was one person to step on it and its gone forever. My mum did say maybe I lost in when I was cutting branches off a tree in her garden on Sunday but I said no it would be when I was throwing the ball. So I was a bit upset. An hour ago my mum called and told me she had the ring She decided to lift all the branches I had cut and there nin the dirt large as life was the ring, it must have got caught on a branch! - I was so convinced that it wasnt there I genuinely would not have even bothered to look. I am so pleased. So at the weekend we are going to the jewellers to get it properly fitted. Its a Christmas miracle |
