Default Why do bright young prospects want to join big clubs like Madrid, Man United or Chels

Why do teen wizkids go to the big clubs? Money? Lure of potentially being a superstar? The so called smaller clubs have great youth programmes as they actually need young players (although this is less the case now thanks to Sky money)

Martin Odegaard has stagnated at Madrid. He won't get regular first team football anytime soon, despite Zidaine knowing everything about him.

Now I have heard AC Milans teen goalkeeper is wanted at Man United, he won't oust DeGea unless DDG heads to Madrid. Luke Shaw played for Southampton at 15/16 as a defender when they were in the championship and gained promotion. Had he had come from the Man United academy he would still be there.

Chelsea arguably have the best EPL academy in terms of talent pool but under Mourinho the limes of Loftus Cheek and Kenedy might as well have been playing rugby. At least Huddink is giving them game time.
