You must have missed the part where he was shown picking on her for her tan over the course of multiple episodes. Each episode is a highlight of the day before. Hence my saying "over a few days". Chanelle and Isabelle may not be as intellectual as the likes of Raph or Charlotte but they are far from brain dead. If they choose to have fake eye lashes, tans etc. then that's they're prerogative but most do it because they feel insecure in how they look after being constantly put down for it from the likes of people like Lotan.
