I imagine it's just lip service until the story goes away and they can continue unopposed.

It's always the same, a major shooting happens, changes are promised and then they are never carried out because the public's attention moves onto the next story so there's no obligation to change anything.

No major changes will ever happen when it comes to guns in America. The belligerent kind of Gun owners value their guns over other people's lives, the gun industry likes money too much and the government REALLY likes the tax money it brings in.
