A quote from the Broadcast article that everyone’s been referencing today suggests that running just CBB or a reduced civilian series could be one of the possibilities of C5’s negotiations with Endemol:

It has also emerged that one possible outcome is for C5 to commission a reduced order of Big Brother – potentially scaling back the hours to air just the celebrity versions or a shortened run of the civilian series. In 2017, the two versions cumulatively occupied more than 100 of the channel’s key 9pm and 10pm slots.

Either way, it’s looking like the future of BB isn’t all that bright if it stays with C5. Time to give it a rest and let Endemol find a new home for it.
