I think Jess (not the best representative for women) and her triangle sort of illustrates that point. Luke could of won her over if he was more aggressive in his approach. He never showed her the level of interest she is attracted to.
Speaking from personal experience. I am a good looking guy but im not tall. Im shorter than NAS and its a thing that women have a hang up about. i have had to learn to overcome that to get the girl i want. I have never won a girl over by being docile. Im not obnoxious but i am forward and let the woman know she is the one i think is special by doing more than telling her that. I show her it. Its a tricky balance to negotiate. Women dont mske it easy. They expect men to be able to pick up on their signals. If you to in too soon its a turn off but if play it to sage and not go in when she is waiting for you to do it, your ship has just sailed away. I think thats lukes problem he waits too long thinking he is being respectful. I wouldnt call him a whimp as much as i think women get bored of waiting for him to figure out what they are lookig for from him. As the cliche goes bad boys get the girl and nice guys finish last.
