I mentioned this to my wife - a mental health professional - a couple of weeks ago... saying that I have a very clear inner voice, all the time, and sometimes it won't shut up no matter how much I want it to... she was like "
 err that sounds like schizophrenia?" then when she looked up inner monologue on Google and discovered that MOST people have one, she was utterly baffled  .
