So here it is. We are in December. Oh boy will I be glad to see the back of this year. But its had its moments like every year does I suppose. Winning 100 quid on a scratchcard and being able to splash a bit of cash online shopping was nice.

Now as for you lot. You've really excelled yourselves over the last 12 months and kept me going and for that I thank you all. I can't do individual shout outs cos everyone has been marvellous in their special ways. I love being part of an online community like this. What a year this has been, I think we have all lurched from hope that 2020 would be "our year" at the start of January, a new decade etc to absolute horror at how the year unfolded. It has been the weirdest, hardest year that I can remember (and I'm old so can remember loads of rubbish years).

People call this forum toxic and at times it is but at other times its a bit of escapism for us all, friendships are made, people have made me laugh out loud this year at times when not a lot else did so THANK YOU for that.

This Christmas will be very different for us all but we've made it through and there is hope now for things returning to normal at some point next year so I personally want to wish you all a Merry Christmas. Have a good time with whomever you spend it with......laugh and eat your body weight in chocolate and goodies

2020 a year no one will be sorry to see that back of and will certainly go down in history not least for scenes of empty toilet roll aisles.

I guess it has shown us in stark terms how quickly our lives can change and how we should not take anything for granted, and at some points it has shown us the worst in people but also the very best and how resilient we are, the number of people who signed up to volunteer to help those shielding, the fundraiser by Captain Tom, the much debated doorstep clap for the NHS which was nice and gave neighbours the opportunity to engage from a distance before it was politicised but it's 2020 so everything is left and right, we got used to queueing for food, and used to seeing empty pasta and flour shelves and we got over it and by the time lock down 2 came, most people were yeah I can do this, and we did with minimum fuss.

and now it looks like we can see a way out, so hang in there, have a Great Christmas socially distant if you must, not worth risking it now, and we look forward to 2021 and a more 'normal' life eventually

...LT......maybe with time and distance, it’ll be that we can see any positives in our lives through living our 2020 year...but atm, not so much, I think...I wish you well on your journey through 2021 and hope that it brings many good moments.....
