I might have to watch on catch-up, I'm glad they've highlighted the mistreatment. I remember watching a YouTube vid Keisha did about her experience.

White man with no connection to the music industry tells black woman in the industry herself that she's wrong about the racism in the industry she is discussing is not "an objection", at best it's a foolish attempt at baiting and at worst an offence taken at the discussion of racism rather than the racism itself. But, yeah, you don't like the forum members disagreeing with him so that makes it a bandwagon. Why even bother coming into the thread? |

To be fair, while "bandwagon" might not be the nicest way to paint it, it's certainly become a "hot topic" recently. Some dude passing away in police custody after

I'm glad people like Leigh-Ann , Keisha, Alexandra Burke etc are speaking out against racism. I don't understand why people have issue with that.

It didn't invent it, but it turned into the big talking point of the year.

how do you get "invented racism" from that? Also just calling people names is playground tactics, Josy already posted about this type of post only today. |

George Floyd "sparked the issue" of racism in the music industry? Ok buddy. George Floyd brought it to YOUR attention it seems. Not that you'll pay attention. Last edited by Marsh.; 14-05-2021 at 06:17 PM. |

I genuinely don't understand why anyone came here to slate a young black woman talking about how she's been treated within the industry she works in.
It's horrible to see anyone demean her experiences and it's very telling about how toxic this forum has become with racists and trolls being left to cripple it.

Lmao white people having an issue with a black girl speaking about race issues that she deals with daily which white people will never know how that feels. Just because she is successful doesn't mean she doesn't get comments. Actually watch the documentary

I never said I had a problem with the content of the documentary... IMO they would have had more of an impact on these issues had they raised them 2/3 years ago at the height of their fame......but the money they were making was obviously more important than their mental health at the time. I hate racism and I hate bullying and I empathise with what they had to endure..both her and Jesy but why wait until now to bring it to light. People are having to endure bullying and racism all over the world but dont have the platform they do and dont have their wealth as some sort of comfort...because it is a comfort. |

And if this thread tells me anything, its the trolling documentary done by Jesy and the racism one done by Leigh-Anne are very much still needed. |

Oh really ? is that why they won best British Group at the BRIT AWARDS ,i think they're doing just fine. And this is an important topic to be addressed when it comes to mistreatment and racism.

"People are having to endure bullying and racism all over the world" so Leigh-Anne is being criticised for trying to do her bit by making changes in the industry she can actually make a difference in, the record label she can have influence in, why exactly? Don't bother doing anything guys, unless you can change the whole world yourself, overnight, don't bother. As for 3 years ago being the "height of their fame", I'm not sure what measuring stick you're using but they made history at the Brits less than a week ago. I havent watched all of this yet but I started to watch it last night and I thought Leigh-Anne conveyed her experiences so well
One thinks shes the victim of the group because shes too black .that comment really doesnt apply at all and to watch the documentary would contradict that completely I mean, I just dont understand how that could ever be concluded from anyone in watching .Leigh-Anne was very open in that she felt almost apologetic about her own experiences in comparison to some and what their life experiences have been and thats something thats often noticeable as well in society Im against racism but I only recognise racism if its the more extreme actions/words, then Im appalled etc is something that is seen a lot, I feel anyways, the only time that she stated that shed experienced the more extreme words levelled against her was a Primary School experience when she said that shed had a description from someone of coming straight from the jungle Ive personally known words such as and similar to that laid at children and the impact on them thats carried .Leigh-Anne stated that she herself felt that her experiences were just minuscule compared to others and as I say, her whole vibe was more apologetic to those who experience horrendous prejudice but she also stated that she undoubtedly did feel that there were differences with things toward her and other black girls in the industry .I recall having many conversations with CeeCee/IthinkIloveyoutoo, the member .she often spoke about skin colour in particular with females because of her own experiences .and she also said so, so many of those same things that were being said by those ladies in the documentary that there is a conditioning of black isnt beautiful and those are the experiences it seems that many have and that were being explained Ill finish watching it later as its a really worthwhile watch . |

Confetti was the 29th best selling album in the UK and was released in November so only had 2 months of sales and their tour had sold out most venues before being cancelled due to covid, people saying they aren't earning are morons. Stop embarrassing yourselves.
