One may dislike him or not agree with his policies but democracy cannot tolerate this violence. People can freely give their opinions in the streets, in the media, on social media and also whenever there is a vote.
I mean France is known for its protests and strikes but this is on another level of heinous behavior. Slapping him for what? It's dumb and pointless.
From what I can read right now in different places (Twitter being one of them, I know I shouldn't read it...), our French leaders say "You can't attack physically a politician, epsecially the President". It goes beyong everything democracy stands for.
