Thankfully this man isn't in party leadership anymore.

However, Starmers main advisor (Mandelson) has done very well from his relatiionship with Russia. I see Farage (remember when he used to be your avatar?) is attacking everyone that isn't pro-putin, and the tories are bankrolled by Russia, but yeah, a few anti-war labour MP's are really putting the country at risk!

Did so as a means to attack the Tory party and its a fair point but let's not act like he hasn't sympathised with Russia or the USSR on almost every foreign policy issue of the last 50 years. Even when Russian agents murdered people with a chemical agent on British soil he was asking why we weren't sharing intelligence with them. He's appeared repeatedly on Russia Today throughout his career. Today he paid lip service to condemning Russia and then reverted to his comfort zone of attacking Israel over Palestine. Its bitterly ironic and that him and his 'Stop the War' crew were basically silent as an actual, deadly war really did break out on European soil and when they did finally respond they basically laid equal blame at NATOs door

Nice to see you here but if you're trying to make out Corbyn has a proud history of opposing Russian aggression then thats a seriously bad take mate

Just look at the Stop the War statement and the section where they give their view of why the war has started. Its disgusting.

Quote:
The conflict is the product of thirty years of failed policies, including the expansion of NATO and US hegemony at the expense of other countries as well as major wars of aggression by the USA, Britain and other NATO powers which have undermined international law and the United Nations.

The British government has played a provocative role in the present crisis, talking up war, decrying diplomacy as appeasement and escalating arms supplies and military deployments to Eastern Europe.

Not one mention of Russia. Not one mention of Putin.

It's such a shame that STW have all the political power in this country, especially after they got, checks notes, 11 MP's to sign their letter. Who then withdrew them as soon as the big red tory threatened them. Man, if only we didn't have STW in thrall to Russia, this would all be over now.

I agree with STW as a movement. I disagree with them on this issue. You also had a Putin Avatar if I remember correctly.

Unless I'm suffering complete amnesia I've never had a Putin avatar. Fully aware I've had bad takes on this before though like I just said. Not sure why you're bringing that up either way to pick a personal fight

Will leave you to it as you've returned like a dog with a bone for some reason. Keep fighting your good fight

It was to show the weirdness and irrelevance of things such as appeared on RT. Not intending to pick a personal fight with you at all. Take it easy.

Yeah, just imagine wanting absolute proof of guilt. Much better to take the Reyna approach of shoot first, ask questions later. He's anti-war. do you want me to post pics of the PM at the time have a ladies night with Russians?

Cleverly admitted today, that Russians were/arer bankrolling Tories, because they were invested in stopping Corbyn, but he's the real friend of Russia, and not the guys who cash Russian cheques? Is that really what you're going with?

Appearing on Russia today? Dude, C'mon. I agree the sharing intelligence thing was off but he's the only leader of a party to suggest something neither of us agreed with? Also nowhere near having the ruling party in charge of our very own country reliant on their cash, but the rest reads like a facebook list.

Things Corbyn has said about Russia:

2008: Accused Russia of rigging elections
2010: Accused Russia of human rights abuses
2013: Condemned Russia’s anti-LGBT legislation
2016: Accused Russia of War Crimes in Syria

Check the threads, I was making these same arguments in the lead up to the 19 election, and none of the tories on here cared at the time.

Imagine sharing sensitive intelligence with a country using chemical weapons on your soil. If that's the best there is for Corbyn's opposition to Russia I think its pretty inadequate. And I don't even need to look to the past really, looking at what he and what Stop the War are saying right now is enough to tell me that these are people who will never properly stand up to Russian aggression, will never fully stand up for a sovereign nation that has been invaded today and where dozens of innocents have already been killed

I'm not going to defend the Russian money in the Tory party. Its obviously a problem and I'm fully aware I've had a lot of bad takes in the past when it comes to Russia. I made a comment that there were still useful idiots in the Labour party and I stand by that

Discussing the issue of illegal occupation and invasion in one country, is exactly the time to bring it up in other countries, especially when folks have buried their head in the sand on one of those instances.

The way anti-Semitism has been weaponised against him, you think this is a comfort zone?
