An uncle* of mine was in the Navy, and for some event or other he and his shipmates were all lined up, and met the Queen, one after the other. They were all meant to just say a simple and respectful greeting, and let her move on? But he burst out MY WIFE IS EXPECTING. Apparently she looked taken aback but amused, and moved on. (He hadn't long set sail, don't worry, it wasn't the milkman).

A few years later there was a similar event, where they were all lined up, greeting her one after another. She got to him, and asked of it was a boy or a girl!


*Uncle-ish. He wasn't a sibling of either parent, just a distantish relative. I'm not even certain it was the Navy he was in but the point of the story still stands.
