I actually think he will be less controversial than some may expect.
I look back and I was 5 when I heard of Princess Diana's tragic death. I think he got rightful criticism for the mess of that marriage. Not to dwell on that however. King Charles 111 has had decades of training as to what is expected as Monarch when in the position of Monarch. His teacher, Her Majesty was the perfect one to learn all from. He will too I think be strengthened with his wife the Queen Consort Camilla at his side. She will likely be his rock too. He has looked far happier in life now with his wife. I think this could be a good reign actually which will be paving the way too for Prince William and eventually Prince George. He's had a long journey to his birthright as Monarch. I personally don't think he will do anything to weaken all his Mother achieved as Monarch. |

However, very recently, as a direct wish of her own decree, Queen Elizabeth did much to detoxify that. When she decreed it was HER wish that Camilla was afforded the title Queen Consort. That possible black cloud of her title was removed by the Queen herself. Enabling King Charles to then not have to deal with that issue. It could have been a really contentious issue. However Her Majesty decreed the title so it's now Camilla's title direct from Queen Elizabeth's orders. Therefore HAS to be carried out. I do agree with you Gusto, it will be a big negative still to some of those who detest what came about re Princess Diana however. |
