Well the fact that one of his Daughters said that he started to change around the time that Trump lost the Election was probably a clue.

However I suspect that he must've already secretly had extreme views anyway, and was better at repressing them before Trump lost to Biden.

Because in fairness to Trump, the Father in question wasn't forced into doing what he did.
