I’m afraid it’s a dog-eat-dog world. I do get where the sentiments come from but meat-eating is just part of a vicious cycle that has to be allowed.

I'm not coming for you, I'm just stating a fact.

And we eat to survive too. There's no prizes for being the most virtuous and going without meat because of guilt. We all get one life and have to make the best of it while it lasts.

I’ll raise a chicken wing to that.

We don't need to eat dead animals to survive, and yes we all get one life so what right do we have to take the life of another sentient being who also has one life, ? And that's not virtuous, it caring for another, if that triggers people that's their problem not mine, but ask yourself why people get triggered by some choosing not to eat an animal.

The animals we eat are pretty much all bred specifically for that purpose for us to eat, that is their purpose for ever existing, if we didn't eat them then there would be no need to breed them, which means they would never exist

So what you really want is for the animals we eat to never exist at all. So what does it matter anyway? At least by the system we have, us humans can grow strong and live fitter and healthier lives. And likely without this system, it would be far more barbaric than what we have and we humans would become daily hunters, like other animals, because that's what our animal instincts would make us do.

That’s crap, a silver back gorilla has the strength of ten men and only eats vegetation

In the future I believe humans will take a single pill that will be the equivalent of a well balanced meal containing all the goodness we need

A silver back spends everyday in the gym, swinging on trees and what not. I'd still bet against them if they entered the World's strongest man competition.

Exactly Alf,they are bred to die, it matters to me how they are treated and reared a lot are treated terribly, Yes we hunted years ago as a necessity,we dont need that today,we are supposed to have evolved,so because we like the taste its ok to breed in the millions, take babies away from mothers and let them lead a miserable existance, the planet is NOT all about us and our needs ,we are supposed to care and look after the innocents in society, not artificially inseminate them ,kill and eat them, that is my opinion and wont change, its fine you find it "normal" I don't ,some humans cant be trusted to be kind,we have seen it over and over.

Are you full on vegan then ? , as even honey is seen as problematic with vegans....so they have maple syrup instead.

What about places in the world where they can't grow much fruit & vegetables,so they have to rely on animals as their life stock ??. Or what about when the early homosapiens hunted for meat to keep strong and fit ??.

It is possible to live off an entire plant based diet ,but I'm not sure everyone is conditioned to, or whether their body would cope . people would need more energy & protein from elsewhere , it's easier to become a vegetarian than vegan.

I am trying my best to go vegan,I am not fully there yet,I started with not eating any meat , then went on to Cheese, butter well any dairy as that is very cruel too,and to be honest everything now can be veganised,so I choose anythng i can that does not involve the cruelty behind the meat and dairy produce.people get really annoyed for some reason that some dont want to eat animals or drink animal fluids, I get more annoyed that people actually cant see why we do it,its not to be "better" than anyone which we get called out on a lot,I just love animals so much I cannot bear to see them or hear of them being cruelly treated, it just seems really strange that people will love thier pets but turn a blind eye to the animals that suffer just for a 5 mins taste on the tongue.I did watch Dominion,Earthlings and Cowspirisy,if people can watch those and not be moved and think about what they eat, then those people will always put themselves first, animals secondary. We no longer need to eat dead animals all the time there are some great substitutes out there, eating animals is also well documented to not be that good in large amounts it has links to cancer ,and other problems,I am really just trying to explain why I wont eat or drink any animal products,I have nothing against those that do as it is ingrained into us from birth, I will admot though I do wonder why some just don't get it. I am in a minority, but so glad Joey is understanding what I mean and I hope you do too, people that get angry about vegans etc baffle me,surely its a step in the right direction.

Kaz I don't mind the vegans and vegetarians who are just trying to be healthier without pestering others. The ones that get on my nerves are the crazy activists who call all meat eaters murderers and who harass farmers etc .

And it's good that you have that discipline and compassion . I think it's nice to cut down on meat at times ,but I could never give up meat .
