I'm a little miffed by this post. Feels like a reprimand. I was looking for a listening ear and a bit of understanding. Which I did actually get. That's Tibb for me.

Well you know I'm a good friend to you on here. It wasn't a reprimand. I'm glad you got a listening ear. But some people on this forum sometimes are not as understanding and it may put more stress on you. That's what I was trying to say.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but I feel like it's sort of important to just be honest about this stuff... your only option for gambling addiction is self-funded private therapy. And I do genuinely recommend that, with a good therapist. Just not everyone can afford it. Although ultimately... it will cost a lot less than gambling.

But yeah the cold hard facts are, you will not get any help with gambling addiction via the NHS. None at all. Addiction services are swamped with alcohol, heroin/benzo and cocaine addictions. Gambling is unfortunately so far down the priority list that it's barely on it at all.

No, though there's no huge problem with (prescribed) benzos on their own, the issue is that many (if not most) heroin addicts also take them by the fistful, and they're often street benzos (which are not medical quality but can actually be stronger). I specifically said heroin/benzo because the majority of heroin deaths also involve benzos. Basically people shooting up when they're already doped up on pills, then they fall asleep and simply stop breathing.
