I was named after a character in I, Claudius. Brilliant series, stands up today, I think.

When I'm studying and have to cope with Latin terms, I curse the bloody Roman bloody empire.

When the Britain's had power, they used it for good. Abolishing slavery is unrivalled and that's just one thing The Britain's fought and died for.

Even after they were gone, the Romans left their mark all over the country. They gave us new towns, plants, animals, a new religion and ways of reading and counting. Even the word 'Britain' came from the Romans. Britain had no proper roads before the Romans – there were just muddy tracks.
