i've used those coffee shops at the airport or the train station when i'm waiting, but i wouldn't use them at any other time

It's like with beer. You could have a can at home for a quid or pay Ł4/Ł5 to drink it in a pub. You're getting ripped off in the pub but the ambience is better and the product is slightly better. Same thing applies to cafes

Yeah you can't beat it. It's first job for me in the mornings. Or when we go fishing, getting all set up, casting out then sitting back and relaxing with a nice flask of coffee.

We are continually ripped over here in the UK two Coffees are 3 euros 20 or thereabouts where we go in Spain and in most places they come with a biscuit, a small slice of cake...here a coffee on its own is close to 4 quid...how?
