Fake cash is flooding Scotland with the value of counterfeit notes now at record level

• An astonishing 171,593 forged notes pulled out of circulation last year
• Over £5million worth of illegal money confiscated in Scotland

Forgeries of £20 and £50 notes have shot up, according to the latest figures
from the Committee of Scottish Bankers (CSB), and make up the majority of
the 171,593 fraudulent notes taken out of circulation last year.

Two months ago my niece working in Waitrose got conned with fake Scottish fifties
They went back several times and passed off 4 fake fifties to her
Other shops must of got done because they had signs saying no longer taking Scottish fifties
