Nobody has really been that horrendous for me on ITV.
I’d have loved to see some of these new viewers put up with proper bastards like Helen Wood (who I liked) or some of the horrendous C4 housemates who were just absolutely nasty.
I think over the 3 series we’ve had on ITV they’ve been tame in comparison.

I agree with you here, but I think that always happens. The audience of shows like BB can often forget to step back and observe housemates as complete, complex and flawed individuals, and instead reduce them to a number of traits.
I think both producers and the public have a tendency, and a preference, in fact, to assign ‘roles’ and labels to housemates, and then judge all future behaviour according to that label. The narrative generally then becomes quite a simplistic story of heroes and villains,
