Unrelated, but just catching up and, in a head to head vote, it's getting to the point where I might vote to evict Lily over Ali. |

Quand il pleut, il pleut

..I don’t understand why a male would put their hands on a female’s throat as any kind of ‘grab reaction’ even if it was messing around etc at the time…it seems an odd ‘first grab’…well, he held her wrist first and then put his hand on her throat…how odd…

To me it comes across as a dominating move, I really dislike it, even in a "messing around way"

It sounds a bit melodramatic here but I think it's because most men xould probably kill a woman by strangling her with his bare hands, in a way a woman couldn't the other way round. That's why it feels kind of sinister to me even in a joking around way

…yeah, I don’t know if I’m over thinking but it was also how he held her wrist as well…only for a second but still, it was all a bit uneasy…

From memory, that’s why the law was changed a couple of years ago to make non-fatal strangulation an offence in itself, separate to any charges for DV. I think, at the time, a non-fatal strangulation conviction came with a custodial sentence, and I can remember this happened in the first case after the law was changed. I hope this is still the case, but I’m not sure if it remains so due to the lack of prison places. However, in the same way that these charges and sentences are so important, I think it’s equally important that people are aware of the differences between grabbing, squeezing and placing the hands, and of whether those hands are around, or beside the neck. |

This. Exactly. That’s why I’m saying it doesn’t matter if they were laughing before and after it. Everything he does in that house makes me feel ill from gaslighting Sarah the other night to this. And yet he’s NEVER called out for any of it. They even constantly defend him on Late & Live as just “having a laugh”.

I had to watch it several times he literally lay his hand on her neck ...I thought the way it was made out he was throttling her

Yes I know, he took it away and I said I can't do that, like he remembered he was on TV
