This is why I compare it to Halal and Kosher - killing/culling foxes has a utility, in some areas it needs to be done - same can be said for killing for food.
Fox hunting in the manner that some object to, is an old tradition - as are Halal and Kosher.
The fox population needs to be kept under control, but there's no need to do it in such a cruel way. People "need" to eat meat, but there's no excuse to slaughter them in such a cruel way.
