I agree with this but I wouldnt call it censorship.

I think it's two things. Sensibilities have changed and the way we consume media has changed.

Things that were acceptable 15 years ago are rightly not acceptable now and the two shows I mentioned, I think its right they are no longer shown on terrestrial TV. Full of stereotypes and one has some quite dodgy politics

Things like, The Sky Sports Socceretes, Take Me Out, and lads mags like Nuts and Zoo were of their time but not appropriate anymore. I wouldn't call it censorship because they don't conform to newfound sensibilities

All these shows are available if we want to watch them and can find them. Due to the way we now consume media we'll be able to watch say, Celebrity Juice but not a broadcast of repeats on ITV2. I've got no problem with that

…this sacking or cancellation or whatever it’s labelled feels a bit more layered in that it’s not about any kind of ‘change of image’ that Gino D’Acampo might not fit with anymore …we see that a lot as well, don’t we…that a personality is replaced because it’s felt that they no longer fit with whatever that network is aiming to project….but this is very specific in that it’s a very serious allegation about his character as a person, not Gino as a celebrity …so far as I can see and there lies the difference, I would say…and that’s something that will surely impact how possible future employers would see him in deciding if he’s the right personality for their programmes and viewers etc….i don’t even know him that well in terms of watching him but what I don’t understand with this is things like the wording that ITV are giving…like ‘following on from etc/etc allegations …’…but it isn’t following on from because these are allegations going back, some over a decade…?…so there has apparently been this huge period of doing nothing and apparently allowing a behaviour to continue before any ‘following on from’ I becomes a thing….and if no action was deemed to be the ‘correct action’ for all of those years, why a complete overturn and instant sacking now…?…

It is certainly odd to say the least.

I think he upset someone, there was some issue and he didn't renew his contract with Gordon, Gino and Fred as he said he was too busy but then he did another programme recently just with Fred on green issues I think ...there is definately more to this story than just a few salacious comments behind the scenes which is how he was on screen so why would it be such a big deal given it was more Carry On style than intimidating

I'll never support channels banning Shows because of "newfound sensibilities" as that is the very definition of censorship.

I mean imo that does come across as trying to dictate to adults what they should and shouldn't be sensitive about, which is not on imo.

These Channels should be letting people decide for themselves if (to use the two Shows that you've mentioned) It Ain't Half Hot Mum and Mind Your Language are crossing the line for them, as we are meant to be in a democratic country, not a nanny state that tries to dictate what is and isn't okay for people to consume for their personal entertainment.

Tbh I don't really agree about the lads mags either, but I don't really care too much about it to defend it too staunchly.

Wasn't 'Take me out 'just a dating show though?, did it get complaints ?. The worst one that's aged badly now is that channel 4 / E4 ' fool around ' ...which encouraged partners to cheat on their boyfriends & girlfriends to convince the main contestant that they're " single " so they could win money. I can understand why they'd never revive that weird cringe TV show.
