All Trump wanted was this mineral deal signed.
I think it was becoming clearer that Zelensky wasn't going to sign something without some guarantee for his Nation's security in the future.

Trump goes on about a deal but WHAT is that deal he is to set out to negotiate.
How much or what minimum of Ukraine would be surrendered to Russia.
What guarantee would be in place were Russia to invade again.
What else would he think Russia should have for ending its invasion into Ukraine.

That's before he paints the picture of UKRAINE's security in the future

Trump never answers any of THAT.

All he's come up with is this mineral deal, in order to get back funds the USA has given Ukraine.
That's the only deal he's set up.

Now fine, USA workers in Ukraine in the future with this minerals deal.
MAY prevent Russia invading again, for as long as USA workers are there.
Still again, where is the security for those workers and Ukraine from Trump.
He NEVER answers that.

What about Russia being made to bear costs of rebuilding Ukraine.
Or is his plan to leave them with the bits of Ukraine they've taken so they need to see to that themselves.

However how is anything more handed to Russia on a plate, ( not as to Crimea that is gone).
Going to be anything other than a reward to Putin and Russia for this invasion.
Plus if Ukraine is denied NATO and/ or EU membership to further give in to Russia.
Where is there any idea of a real and lasting peace plan for UKRAINE's future security in anything Trump is advocating at present?

What people don't seem to realise is that ukraine has it's own manufacturing capability now for drones and ammunition. They are actually in a pretty strong position now to defend the land they have. It's of course a very different thing to push the enemy out as they are dug in, but Russia need a break in hostilities to re-arm and re-group, Ukraine don't need this time.

Going forward over say the next 12 months, if America continue to side with Russia .... are they going to arm russia and put boots on the ground in support of russia? I don't think thats possible at this point, but you never know

It was very uncomfortable viewing indeed.

However it's at Trump's and Vance's door that this shameful event unfolded.
It was more like they saw Zelensky as the aggressor in the conflict with Russia and not how it really is, that Putin and Russia ARE the aggressors AND invaders.

No, what Zelenskyy was saying was that Putin could not be trusted, in 2012 he signed along with Merkel, Macron and Putin a ceasefire deal and then in 2014 Putin invaded Crimea, pointless going for a ceasefire with no guarantees .....Putin would just rearm and go again in a few years time ...I have not heard one word of criticism towards Putin with regard to the invasion of Ukraine, dont you think that is odd for someone who says he is not taking sides? yet Trump has plenty to say about Zelenskyy...he is a dictator, unelected, a comedian....etc maybe if you watched for yourself and wrote your own thoughts rather than copying and pasting what someone put on X it would be better
