I know that sounds over-simplistic but IMO not when it's hand in hand with the other point that the UK has a bad relationship with the volume of alcohol consumed. Have 3 drinks instead of 6. Maybe people will learn how to socialise without needing to be drunk.

That is not the point though, the point is we are totally ripped off
Coffee is another great example, people would drop dead in parts of Europe rather than pay 4.00 for an Americano
Also eating out, you can go out and have a lovely Argentinian Steak dinner with two beers, half a bottle of wine, two cokes, a bread and Alioli starter and share a pudding for 3 people and its costs 70.00 sterling, you wouldnt get out of a Harvester for that here
oh and you will get a free Chupito thrown in
