They are all too savvy these days as to what BB is and how it is won. Most just hide behind a constructed single note persona, knowing that the season is short enough to get away with it. The new BB is won by what you are, not really who you are.

But, this can still be salvaged. A shorter season means the HMs have to be broken earlier so we can see who they really are beneath the fake shell... If it's boring it's because they are being allowed to cruise through it unchallenged and that's on the production team.

It's a holiday camp in there right now. But with less booze.

…absolutely, the only thing really that none of them are savvy to is the blend of housemate personalities they’ll be sharing with…so the BB housemate experience can still..(…to some extent…)…go either way of making or breaking them……but as Simon Cowell would say, in terms of career advancement etc…?…no publicity is bad publicity…for the occasional few, yes …but no for most…Lord, poor Nasty Nick…he really had to go through it back in the day….

….I like to see those divides of rich/poor etc…I like to see the housemates trying to get their treats on the shopping list while making the math work as well…and most of all I like basic shopping budget porridge and rice every day …also we never see them without their cigarettes and prepared to sell their grandparents to BB for one little drag of a ciggie…

…it’s a different beast really for us oldies but then we try to discuss and dissect in the same way as old school BB/24 hour livefeed etc…and it’s just a struggle to get those things to gel sometimes with the new style…

How can we properly discuss something that is robbed of all context?

What I mean by that, and it's been a gripe of mine for years, is that when the whole HL show is stitched together like a montage out of super short edits you never get a chance to see how things develop or what actually caused this or that. You don't even get full conversations any more... You get an edited soundbite and then a HM going to the DR to complain about it.

Look at a classic series like BB5... The edits then were so long. Every character and situation had room to breath and you understood why the HMs felt like they did.

Now it's a montage of probably out of order short clips, often with music over the top. No context at all.

I'm not saying that I can't have fun with the modern model, I can and do, but we'll never get those old days back and that is a shame.

..it’s funny because just a few days ago I was looking at a few old clips of Michelle Bass and Chicken Stew/era…because I was trying to think of any other lil bit messy BB romance obsessions/as well as Elsa/Marcus….anyway, I ended in watching lots of them because they were just lovely and a real feel good…it was like putting a band aid over the pain and injuries of the last week…but yeah, I recall so many times of falling asleep watching livefeed and then being woken up in the early house by housemates screaming at each other as it all erupted…and I recall when I first began to watch the live feed and deprive myself of sleep through the summer…?…thinking that for those who only watched highlights and nothing else…?…on the forum here in discussion…?…we were just watching completely different ‘truths’ and situations…it was such an awakening of how edited it was…

…I was always away on holiday for the final because, working in a school I always booked trips in school holidays …and I was one of those truly sad and irritating/boring people who went off on their own to find a bar that was screening the final show so I could watch……I mean, I had to watch because overseas, it would be a few days before the UK newspapers could filter through …I would have burst, had I not been able to find that bar…/…but it never let me down…..

That’s a good point about the main show not being a true picture ( reflection ?) of what’s really happening

We get a glimpse of things in the live stream but even that is heavily censored ..

For example in the live stream lanky Cameron is loud, obnoxious , physically intimidating and constantly instigating some kind of physical contact with the young women .. in the main show there’s none of that but he’s portrayed as a nice , funny northern lad !!
