Day out at Blackpool

Starting at sandcastle water park for an early morning swim session and all the cool waterslides etc



Then go to Blackpool pleasure beach for a thrill afternoon of rollercoasters and rides



Go into Blackpool tower for the evening and visit the circus

It's all booked. A sportathon for us both to challenge eachother.

Firstly we are up early for a bacon roll, then its round to the crazy putting course for some relaxed fun, before we stop for a light lunch before heading to the bowling green for our next activity, which is more relaxation with a 3 hour game of bowls, 1 drink per end. Ive booked 15 ends. Finally after some high jinx in the hotel it's out for the evening and the darts at the ally pally, for some singing and drinking all dressed up in fancy dress so nobody knows who we are.

Total cost, £650. We are going Dutch, right?

We will start the day with inspiration: a gentle walk in the Lake District where nature meets poetry, dropping in to a local pub for a brunch before moving on to Activity 2.

Activity 2:



After the peace and tranquility of the morning, we are moving on to an action packed, high adrenaline supercar experience, racing high performance cars round the track.

Activity 3


After the action packed car experience we will slow it down again and have a cultured evening in London going dinner followed by a night at the theatre watching the acclaimed play Shadowlands.

A walk in the Lake District followed by a pub lunch is a fine start. Supercar driving experience, hmmm… it’s just like fast commuting, right? Followed by dinner and a West End play. You lost it slightly in the middle but pulled it back nicely.

I saw the words ‘golf’ ‘bowls’ and ‘darts’ and was poised to place this entry in last place. But crazy golf, binge drinking at bowls followed by fancy dress drunken singing at Ally Pally sounds like the perfect day and all three play very much into my wheelhouse.

Waterslides are made for dooshing children into pools of water that are, I can almost guarantee, at least 5% urine. Blackpool Pleasure Beach has roller coasters so that’s good.. Pity it all ended at the circus. I recall circuses smelling of hot dogs and throw up.
