The show died a long time ago in C4's eyes. They can't be bothered with the format any more and its pretty obvious that there's regret in signing up to 4 more series of the show. (CBB6, BB10, CBB7, BB11) Gradually the shows running has been stripped back with live feed decentigrating more each series, BBBM/LB casting gradually getting worse a tired format that they havent bothered updating when they easily could and a repeat of many past twists.

The ads are pretty effortless too. The formats been basicly the same since BB4/5. BB3 has perfect C4/E4 advertising and BB:CH took a brave decision that ended well with viewers too. It's right infront of the producers/C4's faces that original/unique advertising works best. They've even done it themself, so why can't it be done again! The producers are coming across as scared of reluctant to stay even 2cm from the current format.

The show will probably be in such a mess by the time the contract next runs out that ITV or Sky won't even want to take it on.

So basicly what I'm trying to say is that even if ratings pick up again, I don't think it matters. BB's to deep in its own troubles to gain popularity again unless the producers work incredibly hard.

Here's an interesting quote from another forum:

Quote:
As Channel 4 are possiblity killing off its own national insituation. This is what the final BB may possiblity be like in 2010 BB XI (11)

- Possiblity final ever series, Shown on E4 only.
- No live feed at all, No streaming on the internet, Only E4 showing would be the daily show, BBLB, BBBM and launch, eviction and final.
- Daily highlights show at graveyard slots such as 12.30am or later just like the snooker on BBC2 is at the moment.
- Eviction show and final maybe even be recorded some 2/3 hours before tramission with the programme reduced and been shown at the same time at least.
- Final possiblity would have 7 out the same evening on a 1 hour show with just 3 questions from the host (which may not even be Davina, It may be Keith Lemon or some crap host)
- Marcus Bently being ditched from narrating the daily show and replaced by some T4 bimbo.
BBLB and BBBM still on with lesser known and maybe crappier hosts than George Lamb. Another Zezi type may be on too. -Lesser promos on C4/E4 and only the TV magazines will mention the return or a short article on some newspapers.
- The media may even be banned to help prevent C4's image. -So maybe no more photo shoots ect.
Shortest series ever, Maybe just 46 days. Phone votes may only be on for few hours too and close at midnight as one occasion did during BB IX.

There is a bit of hope though. Endemol recently payed for an experimental version of the show for the Croatian producers where the house was built in another country (Thailand) and the housemates have a much bigger house to explore (Talking easily 4X the size of our bigger houses eg BB3/9) with a garden that has no back wall and two resident elephants. The housemates are also able to talk part in tasks outside of the house in the city as well as being able to explore it. This is an interesting concept as there are alot of major Big Brothers, the ones that actually make Endemol some money (UK, US, Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil) on their last legs. It looks like by running this test series Endemol producers are planning to save the concept by introducing a new format. Even more interestingly is that quite a few of the casting/production team was from the UK, Germany/Austria and Spain. (Some of the most suffering series)
