I don't really like British comedies really. The modern day ones I think have been poor. I really didn't get how everybody loved Four Weddings and Notting Hill. They did nothing for me!!!
I suppose if I had to pick one it would be The Full Monty. It warms the cockles. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Really Sticks? I'd have put you down for Death takes a Holiday or Heaven can wait.
Hang on, no, they are both essentially optimistic and life affirming.......................... I think your favourite film just might be Apocalypse Now????????? |

The Forbin Project is a good film. There the baddies are two super computers in control of Soviet and American nuclear missiles. In the end they subjugate humanity and successfully demand that they are worshipped as gods.
Evil wins again, just like real life ![]() |

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
![]() I have to admit to going to a special screening of it many moons ago, where everyone dressed the part! It was an absolute scream ![]() I have always been very envious of Frank's make up in the film, it was totally awesome! His legs were pretty good as well! |

I've only just discovered this thread but thought I'd add my thoughts. Lots already mentioned - did anyone else see Dirty Dancing when it was reshown recently? I love that. Also Brief Encounter and Its a Wonderful Life. But my all time favourite has to be Casablanca - have watched it so many times I know most of the script - As far as I am concerned You can play it again Sam any time you like.
Of recent films I love While You Were Sleeping - got nothing to do the fact that I really like Bill Pullman = but what a lovely love story ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
