Read the book.
Seen the play [many years ago at Nottingham Playhouse I think] Seen the film. As Rob says it could be excellent or not depending on the production. I seem to remember the version I saw was NOT that brilliant.All though provoking and depressing. The end of the film stuck in my memory though. All the characters wandering around in woodland reciting, having taken on a book to learn and keep for for posterity. Hmmm !
